Unyielding curiosity
our web of interconnection
Occasionally, I decide that I don’t want to talk to strangers. I want to be in a public space silently, secluded among others. Often, I fail, as I did today when I didn't make it 10 minutes before asking about the book between me and the one other patron in the tiny burger shop, or that time, so many years ago, when I made it to the last half hour of a long train ride before turning to my seatmate and coaxing his full life story out of him.

Funny the things that move us to connect, SB.
When I flew I did not want to be bothered by or with the conversations of seat mates. Flying was my time to gaze out the window into the infinity or sky or cosmos & day dream. Unless, they were reading a book & the book piqued my curiosity/interest & then a conversation was worthwhile. Okay. Maybe I'm a snob. Or, maybe I pick & choose how I'll parse out the time I have allotted to me.
Here's the thing about Kindles and "devices." I can't see what you're reading. One more way in which technology has made life easier & perhaps a bit more isolated. You will know me by the books I hold in my hands. Okay. Maybe I'm a snob; but think about who that could beckon into a conversation......
